Some of you know that Stephen took a job in Texas which severely cramped our practice schedule--Chess Club likes to practice. Mark left shortly after that for reasons only he knows.
So once again, Chess Club found itself without a rhythm section. Did we just hang it up? Of course not. That's not the Chess Club style. We put out the feelers again.
Geoff Smith, from Star & Micey, stepped in to fill the bass void. He brings a youthful charm to the role as well as a nice bottom end. He plays bass very well, too.
Travis Endersby came up from Down Under and found us through MySpace (see kids, it can be useful). Despite his persistent mispronunciation of the words "fourteen" and "aluminum" he uses his years of experience to keep the Chess Club beat strong and steady.
So, that's it in a nutshell. I know it's short and sweet, but that's better than long and bitter. Watch out for lots more shows in 2008 ... and hopefully, if we can find a way (money) we'll have a new record out, too.
If you or anyone you know may be interested in helping us achieve our goals (money, booking, touring, etc.) please get in touch with us via this page!!!!
Love,
Chess Club
